    ADHD Testing in Omaha NE

What does an ADHD evaluation entail?

An ADHD evaluation involves two parts. The first component is an informational interview during which you will be asked to share about your childhood experiences of inattention and impulsivity-related symptoms. We will also discuss your family and developmental history, your educational experiences, your work history, your social relationships, and other general mental health symptoms. Next we will discuss how inattention and impulsivity-related symptoms are currently impacting you.

The second part involves taking standardized psychological questionnaires that objectively assess general mental health and ADHD symptoms. You will be asked to identify two individuals who are familiar with your childhood and/or current ADHD symptoms to complete brief standardized questionnaires about you. These components are crucial to the evaluation because they offer collateral information and “outside observations.”

How long will the evaluation take?

The in-person evaluation typically takes 2.5 to 3 hours to complete.

What happens after the ADHD evaluation is completed?

Following the evaluation and once collateral information is returned, Dr. Holcomb will write a detailed report of the results. The report will include a diagnosis and recommendations for effective strategies in managing symptoms, if applicable.  This report will be shared with the patient upon completion of final payment.  If you would like to meet with Dr. Holcomb to discuss the results, this can be arranged.

Dr. Holcomb is not a prescriber of medications. Nonetheless, she is happy to coordinate care with an identified medical provider if that is a part of the recommendations.
