Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is commonly diagnosed in childhood. For many, however, symptoms of ADHD often go unrecognized for years and it is not until adulthood that problems with distractibility, procrastination, restlessness, and/or inattentiveness become extremely dysfunctional. Attempting to balance work, relationships, finances, social lives, etc. becomes especially challenging for adults with ADHD and therefore worthy of treatment.
At TRUE Counseling & Psychological Services, LLC, therapy focuses on assisting clients in recognizing symptoms of ADHD while also addressing external factors that may worsen abilities to focus, control emotions, or sustain motivation. Once clients are better able to identify these problems, solutions can be found.
ADHD may never completely disappear, but symptoms can be managed to the point that people can feel more functional and productive in their everyday lives.
